AXIOM SOFTWARE The Axiom software system upgrade is designed to interface with the existing Fanamation Coordinate Measuring Machine . Intelligent Measurement, Inc. continues to maintain the CMIS software for DOS and UNIX and all other Fanamation Software. In addition Intelligent Measurement, Inc. has developed a number of advanced machine software systems for the purpose of retrofit to Coordinate Measuring Machines. The following describes the features and benefits of AXIOM(R) software followed by other details such as terms, pricing and installation as well as description of additional options. Axiom for Unix is the software for the Host computer of the Coordinate Measuring Machine running under the Unix platform. This measuring software provides the best Graphical User Interface using easy to understand icons. AXIOM (R) provides full compatibility to the DMIS part-programs while it provides a friendly machine and user interface with capable features as described here in more detail.
JOYSTICK BOX UPGRADE: The role of the ALR PC in operation of the machine using Axiom software can be minimized to only two functions of Joystick interface and Keypad interface. It is recommended that this PC will be eliminated all together and the replacement interface for the Joystick and Keypad be provided via a single board computer embedded in the joystick box. The benefits of this are as follows: This method will eliminate the confusion of the operator in dealing with the current two monitor / two keyboard system. The configuration files and important parameter files for the system will be able to be stored in the Host computer and can be protected against miss-use. The Service programs such as Fact for Lasering the machine will no longer be necessary since Axiom allows the Laser interface directly to the machine. The part programs such as Machine Checking Gauge and their analysis will no longer run through CMIS DOS and can be executed via Axiom.
